3M™ Zirconium Diboride Powders are a ceramic-based antioxidant used to improve corrosion resistance in zirconia-based, carbon-bonded refractories in contact with ferrous melts.

Improving Corrosion Resistance
3M™ Zirconium Diboride Powders are the best-known additive for improving corrosion resistance in zirconia-based, carbon-bonded refractories that come into contact with ferrous melts – for example, submerged entry nozzles. This antioxidant is commonly used to protect carbon-containing components in order to extend service lifetimes of refractory components.
