3M™ High Power Brake Cleaner blasts away loose friction material, dirt, dust, brake fluid, and other contaminants from all types of brake assemblies. Its fast-cleaning action quickly softens and dissolves grease and oil. Its unique low-odor chemistry dries quickly, leaves no residue, and helps eliminate brake noises caused by surface contamination. It contains no chlorinated solvents.
3M offers this brake cleaner in three versions:
- PN08880 contains 96% VOC.
- PN08180 contains less than 45% VOC.
- PN08179 contains less than 10% VOC.
Aim, Spray, Clean — It's That Easy
A high-pressure delivery system flushes contaminants off the brake assembly with ease. The delivery system has been designed to hit the targeted oil, grease and dirt with exceptional accuracy. A small extension straw is included making targeting precise locations even easier. The cleaner penetrates deeply to rid the brakes of gunk hidden in hard-to-reach spots. The cleaner is recommended for brake linings, shoes, drums, cylinders, caliper units, disc brake pads, and all other related parts. Because this one product cleans away so many types of contaminants, it reduces the need to stock multiple cleaners.
Makes Brake Cleaning an Easy Task
We made this brake cleaner easy to use (PDF, 2.4 Mb). Simply hold the can 12 to 24 inches from the surface and, starting at the top, wash the contamination down and off the area being cleaned. If parts are extremely contaminated, repeat the application. Then remove excess with a paper towel and dispose of properly. The cleaner dries quickly and leaves no residue.
