3M™ Dyneon™ Fluoroelastomer FC 2177D is a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene with a fluorine content of 65.9%. This fluoroelastomer (FKM) offers excellent hot tear strength for removing complex parts – such as shaft seals – from mold. Additionally, its incorporated cure technology may help you save time and increase throughput.
Excellent Hot Tear Strength
3M™ Dyneon™ Fluoroelastomer FC 2177D has a number of favorable attributes that make it suitable for use in compression and transfer molding, as well as bonding and calendering. This fluoroelastomer (FKM) offers excellent hot tear strength for removing shaft seals and other complex parts from a mold.
Dyneon fluoroelastomer FC 2177D can be compounded using standard water-cooled internal mixers or two-roll mills with standard fillers and ingredients utilized in typical FKM formulations. The dry ingredients should be blended before adding to the masticated gum. For best results, FC 2177D should be banded on the mill prior to adding the blended dry ingredients. Once mixed, the compounded stocks have good scorch resistance and storage stability.
Different Quantities to Meet the Needs of the Job
Dyneon fluoroelastomer FC 2177D is packaged in slab form and is available in a returnable bulk shipping container system for 1,320 Ibs (600 kg) of material. The bulk container system is comprised of 48 individual polyethylene bags containing 27.5 Ibs (12.5 kg) of product. Smaller quantities are available in 55.1 Ib (25.0 kg) boxes.
