Highlights
  • Possesses the ability for fast cure cycles with excellent processing safety
  • Medium-viscosity copolymer
  • Used in compression and transfer molding, extrusion and calendering
  • Proprietary incorporated cure technology may help save time and increase throughput

3M™ Dyneon™ Fluoroelastomer FC 2176 is a medium-viscosity copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene with a 65.9% fluorine content. This fluoroelastomer (FKM) is used in compression and transfer molding, as well as extrusion and calendering. It features an incorporated cure technology that may help save you time and increase throughput.

A General Use FKM
3M™ Dyneon™ Fluoroelastomer FC 2176 is capable of fast cure cycles with excellent processing safety. With attributes that make it suitable for compression and transfer molding, extrusion and calendering, this FKM is good for general use, and ideal for autoclave curing. Plus, its incorporated cure technology may help save you time while processing and increase throughput.

Dyneon fluoroelastomer FC 2176 can be compounded using standard water-cooled internal mixers or two-roll mills with standard fillers and ingredients utilized in typical FKM formulations. The dry ingredients should be blended before adding to the masticated gum. For best results, FC 2176 should be banded on the mill prior to adding the blended dry ingredients. Once mixed, the compounded stocks have good scorch resistance and storage stability.

Different Quantities to Meet the Needs of the Job
Dyneon fluoroelastomer FC 2176 is packaged in slab form and is available in a returnable bulk shipping container system for 1,320 Ibs (600 kg) of material. The bulk container system is comprised of 48 individual polyethylene bags containing 27.5 Ibs (12.5 kg) of product. Smaller quantities are available in 55.1 Ib (25.0 kg) boxes.
