    Details
    • Designed for low-level EMI and RFI shielding and other industrial and electrical applications
    • 1.5 mil electrolytic grade copper foil carrier is extremely malleable
    • Tin cladding on both copper surfaces resists corrosion and readily accepts solder
    • Aggressive acrylic adhesive combines high adhesion and low resistance
    • Bonds to low surface energy substrates and other challenging surfaces

3M™ Venture Tape™ Conductive Tinned Copper Foil Tape 1690 is a tinned copper foil tape with an aggressive acrylic adhesive. The tape features an extremely malleable, zero temper, high tensile copper foil clad with tin on both sides for excellent corrosion resistance. The tape is suitable for industrial and electrical applications including low-level EMI/RFI shielding.

An Electrically Conductive EMI/RFI Shielding Tape
3M™ Venture Tape™ Conductive Tinned Copper Foil Tape 1690 features 1.5 mil copper foil which is plated on both sides with tin for excellent resistance to corrosion. The electrolytic grade, zero temper, high tensile copper is extremely malleable and the corrosion-resistant tin plating accepts solder, making it suitable for a very broad range of industrial and electrical applications. The 1.5 mil pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive is very aggressive and delivers excellent adhesion and wet-out even on textured and low surface energy substrates. This combination of materials is ideal for EMI/RFI shielding and static discharge applications including printed circuit board manufacture and repair.

    Recommended Applications

    • Applications requiring additional corrosion resistance
    • EMI and RFI shielding
    • Applications where static discharge is a concern
    • Printed circuit board manufacture and repair
    • Flexible flat conductors
    • Electrostatic applications

    Excellent Adhesive Performance
3M™ Venture Tape™ Conductive Tinned Copper Foil Tape 1690 is coated with a pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive designed to bond to a broad range of substrates including low surface energy substrates. This tape adheres immediately upon contact and can perform under a wide spectrum of temperatures ranging from -40°F/-40°C to 300°F/149°C.

    3M™ Metal Foil Tapes
Copper is just one of the metal-backed tapes available from 3M. These foil tapes resist failure from common sources of degradation including moisture, ultraviolet rays and many chemicals, and are commonly used for reflecting, wrapping, masking, sealing, and more in applications from air ducts to washing machines. As with all 3M products, 3M™ Venture Tape™ Conductive Tinned Copper Foil Tape 1690 is supported by exclusive 3M technical expertise and application advice. 3M Copper Foil Tapes are suitable for demanding applications in aerospace, automotive, appliance, maintenance, repair and operations and many more segments.
