Standard Abrasives™ Cleaning Wheel is ideal for cleaning welds, removing corrosion, rust, scale, paints, varnishes and sealants from difficult-to reach surfaces. This wheel was built for cleaning, due, in large part, to its open web construction. Gaps between the large nylon filaments allows debris to escape, so you don't have to sweat the mess — or the smear that often comes with it.

Sharp, Fast Cut and Fine Finish
Not only does the Standard Abrasives™ Cleaning Wheel remove surface contaminants, it produces fine finishes and can be used for blending. Credit the conformability of the large nylon filaments, which respond to surface imperfections with softness and finesse. The conformable, cushiony texture of the wheel helps it clean the surface without severely gouging or marring the surface. Coarse silicon carbide, evenly distributed throughout the nylon filaments, helps remove contaminants cleanly and efficiently. Silicon carbide is a very hard and sharp mineral. While it may have a shorter life than aluminum oxide, it produces a finer finish and should be used where the best possible finish is desired. The spindle-mounted wheel measures 3" in diameter, and its small size helps it access tough areas.

The open web construction adds a level of sponginess and flexibility
The Many Benefits of Open Web Abrasives
The open web construction adds a level of sponginess and flexibility; this open web material is created by combining non-woven nylon strands and abrasive mineral with resin. Gaps between the nylon fibers allow unwanted swarf to escape, enhancing load resistance. As the abrasive is less likely to clog with debris, the mineral keeps cutting sharper, longer. The open web material is also waterproof and may be used with lubricants, which help to keep the abrasive running cool and wash away swarf. The load-resistant properties of the web, combined with the swarf-cleaning action of the lubricant, help to prevent workpiece contamination. As debris clear away, the likelihood of particles smearing or blemishing the substrate decreases.

Trust the Standard Abrasives™ Cleaning Wheel to help you tackle hard-to-reach surfaces with efficiency and ease.
