Pursuing a lifelong dream to become an oncology nurse, Donna Yost entered nursing school after sending her children to college. Now a clinical nurse educator, Donna leads infection prevention and quality improvement efforts focused on oncology patients, a population that is particularly vulnerable to infections. Her collaborative efforts have included a fall prevention program, initiatives to reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) and central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs) and a program focused on IV securement and microbial protection.

As she continues to advance in her career and pursue her doctoral degree, Donna is focused on advocating for patients and colleagues by promoting policies, processes and procedures that reduce infections and improve patients' quality of life.
