3M has partnered with Sharps® Compliance, Inc. for the safe and environmentally friendly disposal of your 3M single-patient use, negative pressure therapy units, at no cost to you. Please do not include any other products in box for disposal.

Please follow the shipping instructions below to ship these devices to Sharps Compliance, Inc. for recycling.

1. Place recycling box in a central location.
Note:
Wards to ensure that used therapy units get sent and placed inside of the recycling box in your hospital. -
2. Remove the 3M™ V.A.C.® Via, 3M™ Prevena™ 45 ml Canister, or 3M™ Prevena™ Plus 150 ml Canister from the therapy unit once patient treatment is complete. Do not include the canister, dressing or tubing in recycling container.*
*Disposal of canister and dressing:
Follow local institutional protocols for infection control and waste disposal procedures for dressings and canisters. -
3. Place therapy unit in the clear plastic bag located inside the box, then secure with twist tie.
Optional:
Carrying case, power cord, paper copy of instructions for use. -
4. Place the bag in the recycling box, close the box flaps, and seal the box.
