Gail Egan is a nurse practitioner in Interventional Radiology in northern California. As part of a large IR group, she is responsible for clinical consultation, vascular access device selection and placement and complication management. Her primary practice interests are in the areas of imaging in vascular access and interventional oncology. She has been the primary or co-investigator on a number of clinical trials on subjects as varied as ECG tip location technology, subcutaneous securement, embolic agents and novel technologies in the management multiple sclerosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. She is the author of numerous publications in peer reviewed journals and many book chapters. She is active in the Society of Interventional Radiology, the Association for Vascular Access and the California Association of Nurse Practitioners. Ms Egan is the 2008 recipient of the Suzanne LaVere Herbst Award for Excellence in Vascular Access Practice, and the 2010 Outstanding Faculty Award at the 35th Annual Scientific Meeting for the Society of Interventional Radiology.
