Innovative single path coding technology
Single path coding allows both outpatient facility and professional coding to occur within the same system and workflow, during one session, by one coder. With one click of a code, it is possible to populate both facility and professional codes, and display 3M™ Coding and Reimbursement System (CRS) edits, as well as medical necessity edits where applicable, to both outpatient facility and professional codes.

I think one of the biggest wins that we were able to experience is really unifying the coding opportunity with single path. Again, bringing together professional fee coders and facility HIM coders into one workflow. And there, there was training that was required both on the ProFee coder side, where they needed to learn the nuances of HIM coding and charge capture as well as some of the abstraction rules and vice versa, the workflow was different. So that was an adjustment, but there was just a lot of synergy and opportunity for the two groups to come together. And, the exciting thing for me in contrast to my previous experience is that we really widen the scope of single path. So anytime where we needed to do a hundred percent coding in a specialty we took advantage of that and also applied it to some of the ancillary departments as well. So with radiology, cardiology, diagnostic, and therapeutic areas. So it was an exciting opportunity for us.
