During this 3-Day (Mon.>Wed.) training, 3M Authorized Trainers demonstrate various installation processes for applying graphic films to windows, walls, floors and fleet (vehicles). These processes improve your installation proficiency and ensure your applications exceed your customer’s expectations.
Following training (Thurs.-Fri.), 3M offers optional hands-on testing for Windows, Walls & Floors and/or Fleet Accreditations. Successful testing confers the titles of either 3M Windows, Walls & Floors Preferred Installer, 3M Fleet Preferred Installer, or both based on your participation.
*Important: The three-day 3M Graphic Films Installation training program is not intended to provide entry level installers with the skills needed to successfully pass the hands-on Preferred Installer tests”. Although it is not mandatory, 3M suggests that these rigorous hands-on tests only be attempted by experienced installers.
The 3M Windows, Walls & Floors Preferred Installer accreditation and the 3M Fleet Preferred Installer accreditations each require a 1-day test. If you’re interested in testing for only WWF or Fleet accreditation, 1 day (Thurs.) is required. If testing for both WWF and Fleet accreditations, 2 Days (Thurs. and Fri.) will be needed.
Successful testing confers the titles of either 3M Windows, Walls & Floors Preferred Installer, 3M Fleet Preferred Installer, or both based on your participation. You will be listed on the 3M Installer Locator and granted use of specific 3M branding items to convey your proven proficiencies.

The 3M Vehicle Color Change program is a three-day course dedicated to teaching installers how to install 3M™ Wrap Film Series 2080 and use 3M™ Knifeless Tape. Students learn the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary to advance in the personal auto industry. Instructors emphasize hands-on training using the proper application tools to help installers succeed in real-world situations. On the third day, installers have the option to continue training or attempt a five-station installation test if they feel confident in their skillset. Installers who take and pass the test will earn the 3M Vehicle Color Change Preferred Installer accreditation. Students who are new to the industry (or who have less than a year of experience) are advised not to take the test.
This is the registration to take the test for the title of 3M Vehicle Color Change Preferred Installer. Training is not required to take the test, but is highly recommended Please note that as of April 2022 the testing will be included along with the training, so you are not required to register separately.
This training is designed to give installers the tools and techniques needed to confidently apply 3M™ DI-NOC™ Architectural Finishes in an interior/exterior design setting. After two days of training, you will have the option of testing on what you’ve learned (day three.) Passing the test confers the title of 3M™ DI-NOC™ Architectural Finishes Preferred Installer and will be listed on the 3M Installer Locator. *Please note this training is not intended to provide entry level installers with the skills needed to successfully pass hands-on testing. 3M recommends that these rigorous hands-on tests only be taken by experienced installers.
This is the registration to take the test for the title of 3M DI-NOC™ Architectural Finishes Preferred Installer.
You can impress consumers looking to enhance the comfort and appearance of their vehicles, after learning the latest techniques for applying window films. This two-day course includes a special section on 3M™ Automotive Window Film Crystalline Series. Training also includes instruction on film selection, prepping, mixture ratios, trimming and hand cutting as well as pre-cut kits, heat forming and final inspection.
Upon completion of two days of training, installers who have the necessary knowledge and skills can go through the testing process. Installers who pass the test will receive a certificate and the designation 3M™ Automotive Window Film with Crystalline Preferred Installer.
Help give your customers peace of mind against damaging elements by learning the best techniques for installing 3M Paint Protection Films. This two-day training will focus on installing 3M™ Paint Protection Film. The skills you learn in this training will help you increase your output and consistently apply 3M Paint Protection Film to vehicles. The course includes instruction on mixing installation solutions, basic tool introduction and usage, proper stretching techniques, edge finishing, pattern alignment and use of 3M™ Pattern and Solutions Center software.
Upon completion of two days of training, installers who have the necessary knowledge and skills can go through the testing process. Installers who pass the test will receive a certificate and the designation 3M™ Paint Protection Film Preferred Installer.
