On Dec. 8, 3M surprised Saint Paul Public School teachers and students by announcing that the company funded all projects in the district that were live on DonorsChoose.org as of the morning of Dec. 8.
The announcement included 160 projects that impact 15,571 students at 28 schools. To date, 3M has donated more than $1.2 million to teacher projects through our partnership with DonorsChoose.org, which provides an online donation platform where public school teachers can post requests for classroom materials and experiences for their students.
Teachers received funding for materials ranging from art supplies to local college tours to sensory equipment for early learners to technology to empower students with disabilities.

3Mgives supports initiatives that increase student interest in STEM and business to help build a diverse pipeline of future leaders.
For example, our 3M Visiting Wizards program shares the magic of science with students through demonstrations and hands-on experiments. More than 800,000 students have seen science applied in demonstrations ranging from catapults to cryogenics.
3Mgives enhances community vibrancy by improving standards of living, preparing youth for life-long success, increasing access to quality and diverse arts opportunities and contributing to global humanitarian relief efforts.
3Mgives invests in programs that foster sustainable communities.
In one example, 3M committed a $5 million investment to the Closed Loop Fund, a collaborative social impact resource that provides municipalities with access to capital needed to build comprehensive recycling programs.
At 3M, we believe in the power of our people to help solve some of the world’s greatest challenges. Through our skills-based service program, 3M Impact, teams of employees have an opportunity to travel to a different country, where they spend two immersive weeks collaborating with a local nonprofit organization, social enterprise or government agency to contribute to a solution for a pressing social or environmental issue.
