Test method compatibility

• • 3M™ Wide Spectrum Neutralizer was designed for compatibility with 3M™ Petrifilm™ Plates and the 3M™ Molecular Detection System
  • Letheen Broth is compatible with 3M Petrifilm Plates and the 3M Molecular Detection System*
  • Neutralizing Buffer is not compatible with 3M Petrifilm Plates and only compatible with the 3M Molecular Detection System with a dilution*
  • Dey-Engley (D/E) Neutralizing Broth is not compatible with 3M Petrifilm Plates and is compatible with the 3M Molecular Detection System

Sample hold time

• • 3M™ Wide Spectrum Neutralizer allows for sample hold time up to 96 hours before processing*
  • Letheen Broth, Neutralizing Buffer, and Dey-Engley (D/E) Neutralizing Broth allow for sample hold time of up to 48 hours*

• 3M™ Environmental Scrub Sampler Stick contains an additive for metal detectability and conforms to multiple grip types*.
• *All metal detection equipment and process conditions may vary which may result in different metal sensitivities. 3M recommends the stick be tested with your product, process and environment to determine the suitability and compatibility with the specific metal detection equipment in use.

Ambient temperature storage

  • Letheen Broth is stable at ambient storage temperature for up to 12 months
  • Neutralizing Buffer is stable at ambient storage temperature
  • Dey-Engley (D/E) Neutralizing Broth is not stable at ambient storage temperature and must be refrigerated

Neutralizer formulation

• • 3M™ Wide Spectrum Neutralizer is free from known allergenic components, known PCR-inhibitors, animal-derived materials (ADMs) and components made from genetically modified organisms (GMOs)
  • Letheen Broth and Dey-Engley (D/E) Neutralizing Broth are free from known PCR-inhibitors, but may contain allergenic components, animal-derived materials (ADMs) and genetically modified organisms (GMOs)
  • Neutralizing Buffer contains known PCR-inhibiters but is free of animal-derived materials (ADMs) and known allergenic components and genetically modified organisms (GMOs)
