    A good choice for heat-sensitive and difficult-to-grind metals, our Standard Abrasives™ Quick Change Aluminum Oxide Extra 2-Ply Disc incorporates a grinding aid to swiftly grind, deburr, and blend. The 2-ply backing provides added stiffness and disc life for low to medium-pressure applications while yielding to accommodate both flat and contoured surfaces.

    The grinding aid on our Standard Abrasives™ Quick Change Aluminum Oxide Extra 2-Ply Disc enhances cut on heat-sensitive metals and exotic alloys, reduces disc wear and helps prevent part discoloration.

    Standard Abrasives™ Quick Change Aluminum Oxide Extra 2-Ply Disc can be used on a wide variety of materials including ferrous metals and composites.

    Quick Change Convenience
    We offer this disc in a range of sizes, grits and quick change sanding systems. Quick change (PDF, 695 Kb) discs allow tool-free swap outs, maintain secure attachment at high speeds, and save operators time when switching discs between grades or applications.

    Choose the disc compatible with your TP, TR, or TS holder pad. The TP system features a snap-on/snap-off nylon fastening hub. TR discs have a nylon threaded hub that easily mounts to TR or 3M™ Roloc™ type holder pads with a turn of the wrist, and the TS system has a metal hub that attaches to its holder pad with a simple twist.

    Aluminum Oxide Suits Many Substrates
    Aluminum Oxide discs are a good match for operators who desire all-purpose versatility and economy. It is a tough mineral that self-fractures to produce a fast cut while grinding, blending and deburring. It can be used on a wide variety of materials including ferrous metals and composites.

    For applications not requiring a grinding aid, try our standard Aluminum Oxide Disc, and when a more flexible edge is needed for steeper contours, choose a Flexible Edge Coated Disc (both sold separately).
