Peltor™ Sport Tactical 500 Electronic Hearing Protector, 1/Pack is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Hearing Protection I received a set of the 500's as a gift from the owner of the small chain of ranges/ gun shops I worked for. I can't say enough good about them. I did enhance mine with the gel muffs, making it super comfortable for the 2+ hours each day of being the RSO. I use them when I teach carry concealed classes and private lessons, and I can't imagine better communication during these times. I hear everything they say. As a side note, I use them while on my tractor mowing...Awesome blue tooth reception from my Android phone!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Head band Very Uncofortable The Headband is so cheap and plastic that it scratches your head. Wearing a hat is a must just to try and improve comfort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Product I am a chief RSO for an indoor shooting range, I wear the Peltor 500 every day. Bluetooth is great, comfortable. Read someone complaining about comfort, no clue what they are complaining about and I don't have much hair up top either. These hearing protection do everything they describe. Do get the rechargeable battery for them. Well worth the 26 bucks for it, saves on replacing batteries.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great protection Terrible comfort I have had the Peltor Tac 500 ear muffs for a year now and wear them most weekends while shooting at the range. The electronics are fantastic you can carry out conversations like you had no muffs on at all. The sound is directional giving even more natural feel. All this is ruined by the comfort of the ear muffs. For a man with no hair the headband scratches against your skin to the point you feel your head is being cut. Even wearing a cap they are still uncomfortable a woolen beanie helps

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Bluetooth The whole reason to buy these over other ear muffs is the Bluetooth...right? Well if that's your reason, don't. When there's an active Bluetooth connection the speakers emit an audible buzz/hum whether something is playing or not. Additionally anything played over Bluetooth has a very noticeable echo and the audio quality is pretty thing. That goes for phone calls, music, audio from media. Everything. I contacted 3M customer service. The guy was very nice and told me they had never heard of these complaints and I should exchange my pair through Amazon. I did the exchange and guess what, it was the exact same with the new pair. Clearly this isn't an isolated problem. I later found several other people with these same complaints on various forums. If you're listening to music -not over bluetooth- like over a stereo using the ear mics the sound is pretty good. So there's little doubt where the issue lies. Probably the most upsetting thing about these is that as ear muffs go, the 500s are really nice. Good comfort, great audio through the ear mics, excellent sound dampening. But the Bluetooth (you know...the selling point of this model over all others) is garbage.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but not durable I purchased this pair of earmuffs in January of 2018. I wear these for 10-15 hours a week (at most) at work as a range officer and firearms instructor. This week, as I was putting them on, plastic pieces fell from inside the headband. I was very happy to recommend this product to customers and coworkers until now. I am surprised and incredibly disappointed that these failed after such a short time, especially given the price of the item. I’ve attached photos as well.
