Peltor™ Sport Tactical 500 Electronic Hearing Protector, 1/Pack is rated 2.7 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product. I shoot competitively, bullseye rifle and pistol and getting into action shooting. I like using electronic hearing protection because I want to be able to hear range commands or conversations, but when its time to shoot I like to drown everyone out. I've tried other electronic headphones and felt they worked good, but I couldn't wear them over my ears for long because they were uncomfortable because of my elf shaped ears. I've wanted to buy a pair of Peltor for awhile, but thought since I had a different pair I didn't need these, until I forgot mine for a 3 week competition. Not only are these super comfortable, but the sound quality is so natural that I literally forget that I'm wearing them. Did I need the Bluetooth capability, no, but it works great. I love that the music volume and the volume of everything else are independent, which will also make them great to mow the lawn with.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from unit will not function I had one pair, love them. Bought second pair. Install AA batteries, unit turn on, talks to me. 10-20 seconds later I get "battery empty" message and they shut down. Use brand new Duracell AA batteries, swap several pair. Same result. Will be returning. But this is not 3M quality.....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dynamic supression great, but odd interference I bought these a few months ago and use them at indoor and outdoor ranges and also while I'm woodworking (both handtool for chopping mortises and dovetail waste) and when using power tools. It is great to be able to hear sounds and voices. In fact, these have an uncanny way of amplifying low level sounds, which is kind of cool. As to ear protection, these work well for both indoor and outdoor ranges as well as in woodworking. As others note, the headband can be uncomfortable. It appears that 3M simply didn't user test these, which is very odd. If I am careful about positioning I can usually wear them for hours, but if they are slightly off the top of my head starts hurting. For me though, the main issue is the strange audio signal that I hear. I'm not sure what it is from, perhaps bluetooth, but it is almost always there and detracts from the experience. As to music quality, these are only OK. My Bose QC35s blow them away. Listening to music through the Peltors is not a great experience--it all sounds flat and compressed. But I didn't really buy them for music--that's just an extra for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Enjoy the features...some issues. I bought this product in July, 2017 and use it (not always on a firing range) 3-4 times a week for approximately 2 hours each use. All of the parts seem to be of good quality. I never have to worry about them breaking if handled roughly or if I toss them in a bag full of gear. I even accidentally dropped them from around 5' on a tile floor...no problem. The Bluetooth connected easily and it has reconnected 100% of the time when powering up (unlike many devices). I really like the mics. I've tried other products of my friends, in the same price range, and I would rather have these. Good sound pick up and very little hum. However, there is no getting around it, the headband is uncomfortable. I noticed it within a minute or two and, for me, it's bearable, but it's an issue. I too have folded up a rag to put between the band and my head, but who wants to spend that kind of money only to go around with a rag on your head. Also, my device seems to have a short in the power button. If I hear an electronic click when I press the power button, the unit will not come on no matter how long I hold the button. I have to release it and press it again. This is about 50% of the time and, for me, it's really not an issue because it will power up 100% of the time on the second try. Without these two issues (particularly the headband), for the price, I would have given it 5 stars...however... -December 2017

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic product for range and hunting I use these for the range and hunting. No problem wearing them for long periods of time. Very comfortable. I also have my UHF integrated which works very well. I did upgrade the ear cups to gell. Most importantly from comparing to all major alternatives out there these had the best protection over the major frequencies (500 - 3500) that I needed for long arms .30 +.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Comfort issues Received these a couple of days ago and I must say that the hearing protection and electronic hearing are great. With the electronic hearing on it sounds like you don't have muffs on. The main problem is the comfort issues. The head band is notoriously stiff, hard plastic with no padding and createses pressure points on one or two spots on the top of your head. It hurts. Also, the ear seals are also quite stiff. Luckily I ordered the gel Hy80 ear seals along with the set and immediately changed out the stock foam ear seals out. This helped quite a bit with comfort but brings up the cost $40-50 and I think that I will still have to buy an aftermarket padded head band or head band cover to address the very uncomfortable hard plastic stock head band. Stock, it's a 3 star product, with the extra gel ear seals it's a 4 star and with a new headband it would get 5 stars. I still have to subject this to long term use but overall quality seems good other than neglected ergonomics.
