Your goal is to weld great welds, consistently. Our goal is to provide you consistently clear, comfortable vision – with full-time eye and face protection. Because we make many of our own welding filter components, we can readily test and transfer new technologies. Safety is the prime consideration when it comes to welding PPE. But the 3M Speedglas optics team aims to help welders even more by continuously improving the optical experience of our welding filters.
Imagine what more realistic-looking colors and details could do for you:
Compare the light transmittance levels between our Natural Color Technology ADFs and our other filters. Note that the Natural Color filters transmit a much higher percentage of colors like blues and reds, while reducing the greens. And, as always, harmful UV and IR radiation is blocked in all of our filters. ON or OFF.
The 3M™ Speedglas™ Welding Filter Series 9100 continues our tradition of outstanding optical quality, including uniform shading and minimal distortion across the entire filter viewing area. By selecting just the right setting for each task, you reduce eye strain and improve the quality of every weld.
Speedglas veteran Stefan Henriksson is continuously on the lookout for new solutions that improve welder safety. When he started working with the innovator of Speedglas auto-darkening technology in 1982, he was the company’s fifth employee.
A Senior Optics Specialist with 3M, Kristina Magnusson found her calling when she was still at school. “I wasn’t really interested in school,” she says. “But when I started studying light rays and lenses I found that this was an area that I easily understood compared to others in my class.”
We apply our own brand of problem-solving and we have regularly received awards for our contributions to ergonomic design and functions. Real-world validation of design concepts and international field trials of prototypes are used to verify our products before they are released.
