The USDA FSIS Microbiology Laboratory Guidebook (MLG) methods for pathogen detection have been updated to reflect 2019 standards, including Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP) technology.
The 3M™ Molecular Detection System uses Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP) technology, which is robust, efficient, sensitive and specific. 3M™ Molecular Detection Assays 2 are set up to allow flexible configurations, including traditional microbiological controls and adjacent laboratory process controls. By utilizing molecular microbiology for pathogen detection, LAMP amplification technology gives you more control over your testing process.
In comparison, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technology, commonly used in DNA-based pathogen detection, uses Internal Amplification Control because of its own limitations and susceptibility to inhibition from sample matrices, which can lead to false negative results.
Heat and cool the lysis tubes. Add the sample lysate to the reagent tubes.
Press start, load the instrument and walk away. Monitor real-time presumptive results as pathogen DNA is detected.
The future is green — make sure your lab is, too, with 3M™ Molecular Detection Assay 2 - Salmonella.
