Many of our vibration damping tapes feature a pressure sensitive, viscoelastic acrylic polymer adhesive applied to a restraining layer, such as aluminum foil, that combine to achieve effective damping with as little as 20% surface coverage. This construction allows designers a broad ability to control resonant vibrations, and performs across a wide spectrum of temperatures.
Aluminum foil backed anti-vibration tape is designed to reduce structure-borne noise and fatigue in metal and composite panels and support structures. This tape resists moisture, weather, UV degradation and flame, and performs in temperatures from -25°F/32°C to 175°F/180°C). It is easy to die-cut and to apply, and meets the requirements of F.A.R. 25.853(a) and can pass ASTM E-162 and ASTM-E 662 for flammability and smoke generation.
