3M™ VHB™ Tape RP45 is a multi-purpose adhesive and conformable acrylic foam for good performance in a variety of applications
The RP family of 3M™ VHB™ Tapes utilizes modified acrylic adhesive on both sides of a very conformable, adhesive foam core. Amazing Strong and Exceeds required specs.
We are a custom design & manufacturing group of Custom Range Hoods. We were commissioned to create a Stainless Steel column vent with a 14" hanging curtain of 1/2" tempered glass. One of our technicians suggested this tape, stating that his grandfather worked for 3M and knew about this product. So in leu of placing studs on the inside of the hood which would be impossible to align with the tempered glass, we went with the VHB RP45 which has the smallest thickness and the strength in high temp and elevated humidity. It worked amazing and we are very proud of the piece.

AMAZING solution for fiberglass RV roof fastener
We've used this tape twice this past year to mount the aluminum "L" brackets securing our expensive 250W Renogy and 327W SunPower solar panels to our 2011 Winnebago View 24K fiberglass roof. This is an INCREDIBLE improvement over the standard method of drilling holes in the fiberglass roof which not only can crack over time but also require period re-sealing of the holes... and allows easy removal / relocation too!
Application was SUPER simple: clean fiberglass & aluminum brackets, mount tape to brackets, firmly press brackets to roof and DONE. These LARGE solar panels are in 70 mph wind on the highway and 70 mph gusts in the desert with ambient temperatures ranging from 20ºF to 100ºF... and under the BLACK solar panels definitely higher than that.

Very, very strong fastener
I have used this product to attach metal to metal, metal to wood and plastic to metal. In each application, this product has held anywhere from 25 lbs to 50 lbs. Great alternative to rivets and machine screws.
