3M™ Thin Flexographic Mounting Tape 2205FL Translucent is a 5 mil, double coated film tape with differential acrylic adhesives on a polyester film carrier with a polycoated polyester liner. This tape is specifically designed for the corrugated printing segment to hold flexographic print plates to PVC saddles/carriers.

Both adhesives for 3M™ Thin Flexographic Mounting Tape 2205FL Translucent are designed to provide high holding power and to cleanly remove from both the plate and the carrier. This product uses the 3M  easy mount liner, which creates micro-channels on the linered-side adhesive surface. The crosshatched pattern creates a continuous and permanent network of micro-channels in the adhesive, allowing air to escape from between the tape and the carrier.

On Easy with Reduced Air Entrapment
3M air release liners have a crosshatched pattern, unlike other mounting tapes that use a pebbled or flat release liner. The embossed crosshatched pattern imprints unique micro-channels into the easy mount adhesive that allows entrapped air to escape. Air bubbles disappear from between the tape and plate, and between the tape and sleeve or cylinder for virtually bubble-free mounting. Setup is faster with smoother surfaces for cleaner print quality and higher productivity. The adhesive maintains tight contact with reduced edge lifting.
