3M™ Surface Treatment for Proppant PST-100 is a wettability altering surface treatment applied to the proppant prior to fracturing. PST-100 improves fluid relative permeabilities in the proppant pack and increases the conductivity of the fracture. This leads to quicker hydrocarbon production and greater yields in hydraulic fracturing operations.
3M™ Surface Treatment for Proppant PST-100 is used to treat the surface of inorganic proppants – such as sand, ceramic, bauxite – during or after the proppant manufacturing process. The durable and stable treatment reduces the trapped water and increases permeability.
This fluorochemical dispersion is designed to treat ceramic and sand proppants for oil and gas well fracking operations. A monolayer of PST-100 on the proppant surface creates a neutral wettability proppant, reduces water saturation in the proppant pack and increases hydrocarbon relative permeability. This helps increase a fractured well’s productivity. We have observed quicker hydrocarbon production, increased production and durability over time in field trial results.
