    3M™ Novec™ 5110 Insulating Gas is a sustainable alternative to sulfur hexafluoride (SF₆). This is an advanced insulation medium combining excellent electrical insulation performance with desirable environmental properties. Novec 5110 gas in pure form has a relative dielectric strength 1.4 times greater than SF₆ at a given pressure.

    With a GWP of less than 1 and strong dielectric properties, Novec 5110 gas is a sustainable SF₆ alternative for arc quenching and insulation applications leading to dramatic environmental impact reductions in gas insulated equipment a reality. Novec 5110 gas is non flammable and has a wide safety margin for workers when used as designed for intended applications.
