3M is the primary sponsor of the newest official PGA Tournament, the 3M Open. Hosted by the nonprofit 3M Open Fund, the 3M Open brings the world’s top golfers to Minnesota for a new FedExCup Season event.
Held each July at the TPC Twin Cities, the 3M Open is about Golf that Matters, where all net proceeds go back to our community. Our primary charitable recipients are:
Also honored at the event were 3M Scholarship winners Sophia Buraglio of Carmel High and Grace Gonzales of Salinas High, who each received $3,500 for their college education from Paul Keel, Senior Vice President, 3M Business Development and Marketing-Sales. Each high school also received $9,000.
Headlined by Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Lee Trevino, the 3M Greats of Golf gives Insperity Invitational patrons the opportunity to see the game’s biggest legends, but more importantly be part of doing good as the tournament donates over a million dollars each year in support of healthcare programs at Allina Health.
As the Official Science Partner of the Minnesota Vikings, 3M is proud to enhance the fan experience at U.S. Bank Stadium. With over 50 unique products used in the stadium’s construction, Vikings fans see 3M Science nearly everywhere they look inside the stadium – from the graphic films and DI-NOC Architectural finishes in concessions, to the Fluoroplastic ETFE on the clear, lightweight and self-cleaning roof constructed by Vector Foiltec with film manufactured from 3M Dyneon Fluoroplastic ETFE.
Even during construction, 3M helped builders stay safe through personal safety products like eye wear, helmets and hearing protection. 3M fire barrier products will also protect the stadium for years to come.

SkillsUSA is a national membership association serving high school, college and middle school students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations, and for further education. SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel.
The nation’s premier science competition for middle school students, the 3M Young Scientist Challenge targets students in the years when research indicates their interest in science begins to fade.
This program encourages students to explore scientific concepts, apply these concepts to everyday life and creatively communicate their findings. Ten finalists in grades five through eight are selected from around the country to compete in the final challenge held at the 3M Innovation Center every fall. The winner receives a $25,000 prize and the title of “America’s Top Young Scientist.”
As one of a select group of international partners, 3M brings a breadth and depth of scientific expertise. Together Nobel Media and 3M have the opportunity to focus on educating, inspiring and engaging a broad audience on big issues that impact people’s lives around the world. We will collaborate with Nobel Media over several years to bring light to important global issues, like the future of scientific education and sustainability.

Recently, 3M bolstered this partnership by investing in the student-athletes, helping to expand and modernize an academic center, the athletic department’s first nutrition education and dining space, and an innovative leadership center devoted to helping student-athletes develop the skills they need to transition into successful careers.
