    • Why were you initially interested in working for 3M and BT & IT?

One of my aunts worked at 3M, and after talking about it with her it sounded like an awesome place to work. The 3M IT internship program was big, well-organized and offered a variety of roles that interested me, but what sold me on the program initially was the people.

    • What made you want to stay with 3M after your internships?

The people and the diversity of work.

    • What types of projects did you work on during your internships? What does your role entail today?

In my first internship with IT Security, I was responsible for auditing and maintaining active directory groups. In my internship with the IT Telecom group, I worked on creating a video script on common Telecommunications Fraud schemes. And in my last internship at a local plant, I worked on labeling software and creating new labels for 3M products.

Now, as the Master Black Belt, I am responsible for the LSS organization and delivering the LSS goals for DDSD. LSS drives continuous improvement and leaning out processes to better serve our customers. As the BRM IT Manager my responsibility is to understand the business and their unique IT needs and represent those needs back to 3M IT leadership in order to partner with, consult and support the division so they can deliver to the customer. It is also to communicate 3M IT policies and strategies, and work with the business to align to them.

    • How did this program prepare you for a full-time career with 3M?

The 3M BT & IT Internship program showed me what working at 3M was like, allowed me to meet and grow a network before I started full time and helped me understand what I really wanted to do when I graduated.
