3M Touch Systems, Inc. encourages recycling of its products. Since disposal facilities, environmental conditions, and regulations vary across states and countries, please consult qualified professionals and applicable regulations or authorities within your region to ensure proper disposal.

European Union Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)

It is also our intention to offer a program for the collection, recycling, and recovery for 3M Touch Systems’ products covered under the WEEE Directive for products being disposed of in Europe. This program will either be offered by 3M Touch Systems or by the party deemed responsible under local law. Details on that program will be made available in the near future.

This symbol applies to European countries only and indicates that the equipment carrying this mark must NOT be thrown into trash and must be collected separately and properly recycled under local regulations.




REGULATORY

European Union Directive on Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)

3M Touch Systems' flagship product lines comply with the European Union's Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive (2002/95/EC).* This is a result of significant development efforts and work with our suppliers over the past few years. * "EU RoHS Directive compliant" means that the product or part does not contain any of the following substances in excess of the following maximum concentration values in any homogeneous material, unless the substance is in an application that is exempt under RoHS: (a) 0.1% (by weight) for lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls or polybrominated diphenyl ethers; or (b) 0.01% (by weight) for cadmium. Unless otherwise stated by 3M in writing, this information represents 3M Touch Systems’ knowledge and belief based on information provided by third party suppliers to 3M Touch Systems.

China RoHS

China has promulgated the law "Management Methods for the Control of Pollution from Electronic Information Products" (often called "China RoHS"). Under the China RoHS requirements, listed "Electronic Information Products" (EIP) manufactured after March 1, 2007 and sold in Mainland China must have labels that meet the China RoHS Marking Standard, and must be accompanied by certain information related to material content.

We are providing the below labeling information and table for the following products that are manufactured after March 1, 2007:

  • 3M™ MicroTouch™ Display M1502SS (15")
  • 3M™ MicroTouch™ Display M1700SS (17”)
  • 3M™ MicroTouch™ Display C1500SS (15")

  • 3M™ Multi-Touch Display C2254PW (22”)

The monitors listed above will have the following label displayed on the back of the monitor.

State of California Restriction of Hazardous Substances on covered electronic materials

The State of California has adopted EU RoHS-based content restrictions on computer monitors and televisions. The effective date of these restrictions under the statute is January 1, 2007. As noted under this website's discussion of the EU RoHS Directive, 3M Touch Systems has developed flagship monitor products that meet the EU RoHS Directive. These products are also available for sale in California under the new requirements.

WARRANTY

IN THE EVENT ANY PRODUCT IS PROVEN NOT TO CONFORM WITH 3M TOUCH SYSTEM'S ROHS CERTIFICATION, THEN 3M TOUCH SYSTEM'S ENTIRE LIABILITY AND BUYER'S EXCLUSIVE REMEDY, WILL BE AT 3M TOUCH SYSTEMS' OPTION EITHER:
(I) REPLACEMENT OF PRODUCT WITH A CONFORMING PRODUCT, OR (II) REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE PAID BY BUYER FOR EACH NON-CONFORMING PRODUCT, WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME AFTER WRITTEN NOTIFICATION OF SAID NON-CONFORMANCE AND RETURN OF SAID PRODUCT TO 3M. 3MTOUCH SYSTEMS SHALL NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BE LIABLE FOR DIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, OR BUSINESS) RELATED TO OR ARISING OUT OF THIS CERTIFICATION, INCLUDING, THE USE, MISUSE OR INABILITY TO USE THE PRODUCT. UNLESS STATED OTHERWISE IN WRITING, THE FOREGOING LANGUAGE CANNOT BE WAIVED, MODIFIED, OR SUPPLEMENTED IN ANY MANNER WHATSOEVER.

Maine Monitor Recycling

Effective July 20, 2006, all waste computer monitors generated by households in Maine must be recycled, unless shipped out of state for disposal. Monitors that carry the brand name of MicroTouch/3M, Dynapro, 3M Dynapro and 3M Touch Systems are business waste, and should not be disposed of as household waste. Please contact your local municipality or consolidator for information about how and where to recycle your computer monitors as business waste in your area.

Maryland Monitor Recycling

Monitors that carry the brand name of MicroTouch/3M, Dynapro, 3M Dynapro and 3M Touch Systems on the serial plate and that are now considered waste, should not be disposed with household waste.

In the event that you are a customer in Maryland, having such a monitor, and seek to dispose of it, please contact 3M Touch Systems at 1-866-407-6666 or send an email to our customer service department for recycling information: US-TS-customerservice@mmm.com. There will be no charge or expense for Maryland customers associated with packaging, mailing/return costs and recycling of the monitor.

West Virginia Monitor Recycling

Monitors that carry the brand name of MicroTouch/3M, Dynapro, 3M Dynapro and 3M Touch Systems on the serial plate and that are now considered waste, should not be disposed with household waste.
