World’s Largest eRibbon 2005!

According to City of Hope, Breast cancer is one of the most serious public health threats affecting women in the United States today. Currently, there are some 2.6 million women with breast cancer in this country, and the numbers are growing.

3M is committed to generating awareness about breast cancer each year, and in 2005, the objective was to spread awareness via the Internet. 3M set out to create the World’s Largest Pink eRibbon, comprised of thousands of virtual notes from visitors from all over the world. To help generate funds toward this important cause, 3M donated $0.50 to City of Hope Cancer Center for each note posted on the eRibbon, up to a total donation of $100,000. By the end of October, our goal was exceeded – with more than 200,000 individual notes posted on the eRibbon!

3M thanks all of you who visited and contributed to this effort and hopes you will continue to show your support each year. You can continue to show your support year-round by making donations to directly to the City of Hope or by purchasing various Post-it® Products for Breast Cancer Awareness. Proceeds from the sale of these special products will be donated to the City of Hope.
