Upon removal of the plate/tape system from the cylinder or sleeve, the plate should first be removed from the tape, then the tape removed from the cylinder or sleeve.

When removing the plate from the tape, or the tape from the cylinder, a "low and slow" technique should be used. Tugging, jerking and folding the plate back over itself can lead to plate damage.

Remove the tape and plate slowly using low angle of peel. Less than 90° (See diagram below) will help ensure clean removal of tape and plate.
