Q. Do Clarity™ Braces stain?
A. Clarity braces are made from a very hard ceramic material that does not stain. Ceramic material is used in many applications today from the heat shield on the space shuttle to artificial joint replacements and heart valves. The ligatures (elastic bands) which attach the wire to the braces do stain from food and drink such as curry, mustard, wine, coffee and tea. These bands can be changed by your Orthodontist.
Q. Can I wear colored elastic bands?
A. Yes, you can individualize your Clarity braces with colored bands just as you can metal braces.
Q. Do my Clarity braces require special care?
A. Your Orthodontist and staff will give you instructions on the proper care of your Clarity braces the same as they would for metal braces.
Q. Are my Clarity braces transparent?
A. Every individual has different colored teeth. Clarity braces "blend" with these color differences and do not draw attention to your braces. Clarity braces let your smile show through.
Q. Will my treatment take longer with Clarity braces?
A. Treatment time depends on many factors. Since Clarity braces perform like metal braces, wearing Clarity braces will not result in longer treatment time than being treated with metal braces.
Q. Will I get to choose my braces?
A. Team up with your Orthodontist in selecting Clarity braces. As long as your treatment plan as outlined by your Orthodontist is not affected by the choice of braces, a logical choice is Clarity braces.
Q. Are Clarity braces for young people?
A. Clarity braces are for everyone. There is no age limit or age restrictions for Clarity braces.
