Automated Application of Post-it® Flags


Post-it® Flags are now available in three formats allowing automated, high-speed application of the flags to printed media, including Catalogs, Books, Directories, Magazines, etc. The two formats available are Post-it® Flags in a Thin-pack Dispenser and Post-it® Flags on a Card. Following is a brief description of each product and the mechanical application process corresponding to each.

Product Descriptions

Post-it® Flags in a Thin-pack Dispenser

Post-it® Flags in a Thin-pack Dispenser are available on 12" or 20" outside diameter rolls on a 3" inside diameter core. The flags are presented as labels on a removable liner and can be applied with conventional pressure sensitive labeling equipment. Post-it® Flags are affixed to the printed media and the liner is simultaneously removed and rewound. Flag placement is typically adjustable in both lateral and longitudinal for flexibility and accuracy in placement.

Post-it® Flags on a Card

Post-it® Flags on a Card are available in blow-in, saddle stitch or perfect bound configurations. The flags are die-cut on a 7pt card stock that is designed to be inserted using standard bindery equipment such as pocket or card feeders. Post-it® Flags on a Card can be floated or are available with head and foot trim. An optional Business Reply Card (BRC) is also available.

Typical Application Rates

Post-it® Flags in a Thin-pack Dispenser

Typical rates for applying either flag product can range from 10-40,000 per hour. Production rates are dependent on equipment, application conditions and the printed media to which the flags are being applied. Please test to determine your application rates.

Typical rates for applying Post-it® Flags on a Card can range from 10-30,000 per hour. Production rates are dependent on equipment, application conditions and the printed media to which the flags are being applied. Please test to determine your application speeds.

Typical Accuracy of Application

Typical placement accuracy for applying either flag product is ± 1/8." Placement accuracy is dependent on equipment, application conditions and the printed media to which the flag is being applied. Please contact equipment manufacturers for equipment specifications.
