3M™ Speedglas™ Welding Helmets for Comfort and Dependable Performance

3M™ Speedglas™ welding helmets with auto-darkening filters and Adflo™ respiratory protection systems are exciting additions to the products that 3M offers to the welding industry.

Automatic helmets (like Speedglas auto-darkening helmets) reduce the potential for neck strain injury from “nodding” the helmet into place while increasing the accuracy of electrode or wire placement. With the ADF turned on, welders see a light state of shade 3, also referred to as the resting state, making it easier to see through the lens. The lens turns to the dark state when an arc is struck and back to the light state when welding stops.

Speedglas auto-darkening helmets are durable, lightweight and comfortable to wear for extended periods. Speedglas ADFs feature premium optical clarity and consistent shading across the auto-darkening filter. All Speedglas lenses provide constant UV/IR whether the ADF is ON, OFF, light or dark.

Speedglas Utility helmets are suitable for Stick or MIG welding only, and available with a shade 10 or 11 ADF. The premium Speedglas 9002V and 9002X are highly versatile for many types of welding at various amperages and offer variable shades of 9 -13. These models offer increased sensitivity, delay settings and are suitable even for the tough jobs like pipe welding and use with low amp TIG inverters.

Speedglas with Adflo, a lightweight Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR), and Supplied-air systems are available, as well as a range of accessories. Call your local 3M sales representative, or 1-800-3M HELPS for details. Visit www.Speedglas.com and select Canada for more details.
