  • any moldy hay or straw is dangerous

  • when crops are harvested in wet weather, during the drying process heat builds up and causes mold and bacteria to grow rapidly

  • as spoiled bales dry, they darken, crumble easily, and are extremely dusty

  • this dust is very fine and contains bacteria and mold spores

  • this type of dust is the most dangerous because it is small enough to get past your body's natural defenses and into the innermost regions of your lungs

  • deer mice waste in the straw or hay could expose you to the Hanta Virus
