Scotchgard Protection for High Performance Outerwear Keeps You Dry - to the Extreme

Advanced Products Meet Demands of Today's Technical Fabrics

London. No outdoor sports enthusiast enjoys being wet. Most of them would probably say that they dislike being wet while trying to enjoy their chosen activity - whether its hiking, skiing, running or cycling. That's why 3M developed Scotchgard protection for high performance outerwear. It offers a solution to a top priority in the outdoor sports market and oil repellent properties.

As the brand of choice in the outdoor market, Scotchgard protection addresses many consumer needs. Treated items maintain high levels of water and oil repellency, and they withstand both home laundering and dry cleaning. The protection lasts through multiple launderings and, unlike other repellents, no tumble drying or ironing is necessary to uphold its performance benefits.

Applied directly at the mills, the new technology does not affect the look or softness of the fabric. While Scotchgard Protection for high performance outerwear was originally developed for synthetics such as polyester and nylon, they also perform well on cotton, cotton blends and wool blends. Even fleece retains its original look, loft and soft, plush feel.

There are more than 100 textile finishes produced by 3M, available for use on a wide range of products - from carpeting and upholstery fabrics, to outerwear and footwear. Scotchgard protection was created to prevent permanent staining on fabrics and in some cases provide oil and water repellency. Scotchgard protection keeps treated items looking good longer and provides ease of care.
