3M Kit Includes Everything Needed to Make Loadbreak Elbow Connection

London. The 200 AMP Industrial Loadbreak Elbow Kit is now available from the 3M Electrical Products Division. The complete kit includes everything needed to make a loadbreak connection.

Rated to connect 5, 8 and 15kV shielded power cables to ANSI/IEEE 386 loadbreak bushings, the 3M brand 5810 Series 200 AMP Industrial Loadbreak Elbow Kit is designed for use with tape shield, wire shield, UniShield® and jacketed concentric neutral cable types.

The elbow is a fully shielded, insulated plug-in termination for connecting underground cable to transformers, switchgear and junctions equipped with loadbreak bushings. Molded from high-quality, peroxide-cured EPDM insulation, each elbow features a coppertop connector, tin-plated copper loadbreak probe with an ablative arc-follower tip, stainless steel reinforced pulling-eye and a capacitive test point.

Available as accessories are the Insulated Protective Cap and the Loadbreak Bushing Insert. The Insulated Protective Cap electrically insulates and mechanically seals loadbreak bushing interfaces and the Loadbreak Bushing Insert threads into a universal bushing well to provide the same function as an integral loadbreak bushing. Special tools are not required to install these accessories.
