Packaging Tapes Deter Crime
London.Packaging
security is a major concern of every company that ships product,
whether they ship across town or across the world. And companies
are always looking for ways to protect themselves against
tampering and pilfering. Now, the 3M Packaging Systems Division
has developed a new box sealing tape that will help deter
theft and in the long run, decrease the costs associated with
theft.
Scotch 3559 Tamper Indicating Box Sealing Tape
was created not only to provide excellent sealing strength,
but to also function as a preventative measure against tampering
and pilfering with several deterrent performance features.
If an unauthorized person tries to peel back
the tape, it reveals a security alert message that indicates
tampering. Also, if the tape is slit down the center seam,
the tape's diagonally banded pattern makes perfect realignment
difficult. If the tape has been completely removed, it will
activate the security alert message. Once the message has
been activated, the tape cannot be reapplied without the alert
message showing. And like all 3M tape products, the Scotch
3559 tape has a superior adhesive that forms a tight seal
on loosely filled cartons.
3M is in the process of expanding its line of
security tape products. Scotch 3559 is the first member of
a security tape products family.
