Introduces Airstream™ Powered Air System With High Efficiency
Filters
London... The
3M™ Airstream™ powered air purifying respirator
(PAPR) systems are now available with HE (high efficiency)
filters approved under NIOSH 42 CFR 84.
This lightweight, economical Airstream system
is available in three configurations: a high efficiency headgear
PAPR system, a high efficiency headgear PAPR system that is
intrinsically safe, and a high efficiency headgear PAPR miner's
system that is intrinsically safe. The miner's system comes
with a bracket for mounting a miner's lamp to the headgear.
This all-in-one powered air purifying system
offers these unique benefits:
- Eliminates the need for wearing the motor
blower/filter on the belt;
- Provides high levels of airflow with high
efficiency (HE) filtration;
- Comfortable, well-balanced system;
- Light weight;
- Limited eye, face and head protection.
The new, higher performing filter media is
slow-loading, thereby increasing overall filter life. 3M is
offering an upgrade kit to allow current Airstream headgear
customers to convert their existing systems to the new filters.
The kit comes with a HE filter, a prefilter and a filter holder.
Industries include mining and agriculture,
and applications include grinding, chipping, sanding, bagging,
shearing, crushing, general mining operations, grain handling
and processing, planting, seeding and harvesting.
