Asset Making a Splash with New Fleet Graphics
Ottawa... The
Musical Ride, one of the RCMP's largest public relations and
community policing assets, recently underwent an image change
to prepare for the new millennium. The RCMP used Scotchprint™
technology from 3M Image Graphics to create a bold, new look
for its Musical Ride horse trailers.
The new fleet graphics are distinctly Canadian.
Each trailer depicts the Musical Ride charge with the Canadian
flag acting as a backdrop. The colours used are red, white
and black. The graphics on the rear of each trailer are retroreflective,
which means they will be visible at night.
"We wanted a bold, new look that would bring
us into the new millennium and reflect our role as a national
icon," explains Corporal Greg Peters, manager, RCMP National
Sponsorship Program. "We have definitely achieved that look
with these new fleet graphics. The trailers definitely make
a strong Canadian statement and will generate positive impressions
of Canada for domestic and international audiences."
The attention-grabbing visual is the result
of state-of-the-art printing technology and high tech graphic
materials. "When the Mounties approached us with the proposal
to redesign their Musical Ride trailers, they explained that
they wanted the design to be bold and that it had to make
a splash in the market place," explains Anthony Carrozzella,
