3M Canada and SoftMed Systems Announce New Strategic Alliance
Companies Will Provide Comprehensive Healthcare Solutions to Canadian Hospital Market

Silver Spring, MD and London, ON – SoftMed Systems, Inc., a provider of core health information technologies, and 3M Canada Company, a leader in the field of health information systems, today announced they have forged a strategic alliance to provide comprehensive healthcare technology solutions to the Canadian market.

Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly promote and sell SoftMed’s healthcare solution offerings to Canadian healthcare facilities. SoftMed Systems offers enterprise solutions for healthcare documentation, case management, performance improvement, and health information management. 3M Canada is widely recognized as the leading provider of advanced software tools for coding, grouping, and abstracting that help healthcare organizations capture, classify and manage accurate healthcare data.

This alliance will enable both companies to better meet their customers’ needs. They will now provide an integrated and focused solution to collect & manage patient health records along the patient continuum of care via a single Canadian based vendor. This solution also meets Canadian regulatory compliance mandates and is proven in the Canadian Marketplace through existing client relationships.

3M Canada will also assist SoftMed Systems in providing client support to SoftMed’s Canadian clients. The two companies have developed a solution that provides quick resolution to various Canadian client support needs and is also compliant with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
