Innovators in Tape join forces with Debbie Travis
3M sponsors design diva and introduces two new products in the trusted Scotch®
brand line of tapes
London, ON - Debbie Travis, Canadas foremost design expert is launching a new
and innovative design program and is ready to inspire Canadians. 3M Canada is a proud sponsor of Debbie Travis
Facelift airing on Home & Garden Television Canada (www.hgtv.ca).
The timing for the program couldnt be better. Statistics Canada reports that
homeowners in Canada spent, on average, 37% more on home repair and renovation in 2001 than they did in 1999.
Making over homes has become a national pastime with painting topping the Statistics Canada list of common repairs
or renovations. To help with that painting, 3M, the inventor of Scotch® brand masking tape, introduces two new
blue tapes in the Scotch® painters tape line. Travis will use these products exclusively on her show as
well as her web site - www.debbietravisfacelift.com.
Do-it-yourself decorators have become knowledgeable and daring over the past years, thanks to
savvy advice from a myriad of renovation programs on television. Expectations are high as the homeowner invests in
quality paint and brushes, as well as time to complete the job. In the past, do-it-yourselfers have sometimes been
frustrated with inferior tape, when removed, lifted their new paint job. Not so any more.
With Scotch® Safe-Release Blue Painters' Tapes #2080 and #2090 offer some distinct
advantages. Scotch® Safe-Release Painters Tape #2080, for faux and decorative painting is designed
to work on smooth, delicate and damageable surfaces, fresh paint (one day old), glass and vinyl coated wallpaper.
It will remove cleanly for up to 60 days (even on glass) and provides sharp, clean paint lines. It can be used both
indoors and outdoors and in direct sunlight with great results.
Scotch® Safe-Release Blue Painters Tape #2090, for painted surfaces and glass is a
high quality, all-purpose tape. It removes cleanly removes for up to 14 days and because of its UV resistance, can
also be used indoors and outdoors worry free.
Every week Canadians will be tuning in to watch Debbie Travis Facelift on HGTV Canada
and will no doubt be inspired to transform their homes - and now that transformation will be easier thanks to these
innovative, new products from 3M.
