Unique Design of 3Ms Newest IV Dressing Secures Hard-to-Dress Catheter Sites with
Ease
Superior CVC Site Protection and Catheter Secural
London, ON - Placing an emphasis on Secured Performance, 3M Health Care
has recently added a new dressing to their already popular line of Tegaderm IV dressings. The 3M
Tegaderm IV Transparent Dressing 1655 has a unique picture frame delivery, is easy to use, and provides
superior dressing and catheter securement.
The unique design of the Tegaderm IV 1655 is specifically designed for use in many
challenging catheter applications, including the difficult-to-dress jugular site, explains Mya Kitts of 3M
Health Care. The enhanced security and superior CVC site protection are a result of the notched design and
soft-cloth border. The enhanced seal, better adhesion, and reduced edge lift around the catheter helps to maintain
a barrier from the outside contaminants, thereby reducing the risk of infection. It all makes for a secured
catheter and a more comfortable fit for the patient.
The dressing also includes sterile tape strips for anchoring hubs, lumens or tubing. The soft
cloth notch may also eliminate the need for a separate hub cushion. This new Tegaderm IV dressing is covered in a
transparent film, thus allowing the dressing to stay dry and clean. This dressing extends wear time and may
reduce the number of dressing changes required, emphasizes Kitts.
The Tegaderm IV 1655 also has the picture frame application system, with
non-adhesive handles that allow for hassle-free application.
The unique combination of features and benefits inherent in this dressing are exclusive to 3M
and its use is advantageous for both the hospital staff and the patient. The application of Tegaderm IV 1655 should
result in fewer dressing changes, fewer complications surrounding the change, less waste, and most importantly,
Secured Performance.
