 Where in the
 world does my
 food come from?

Is there a better way to understand the energy used in food production?

To make the public aware of the carbon dioxide
emitted in the creation of different food products the Carbon Trust has helped and encouraged companies to develop a simple labelling system.

Companies measure the carbon used in the production, processing and transport of their foods so that foods can be labelled with a simple number that shows the carbon emission involved in getting the product to the consumer e.g. a packet of crisps creates about 80g of CO2.
