Fossil fuels

Gas and oil

  1. Sea creatures died.
  2. The dead sea creatures were buried under lots of sand and so did not decay.
  3. Over the years more and more sand and rock was gradually laid on top of the creatures
and they were squashed under pressure.
  4. With the heat and pressure under the sea the dead sea creatures turned into oil and gas.

Fossil fuels are called non-renewable energy resources,
because once we've run out of them they can't be replaced.
