Conserving resources

To reduce our impact on the world, we need to conserve existing resources
(by using fewer fresh resources) and recycle materials where we can.
Ways of conserving resources for the future are:

  1. Using fewer fossil fuels to reduce their impact on the environment and save them for future generations.
  2. Using fewer metals, building materials and other resources that need to be mined from the earth, sometimes creating polluting by-products.
  3. Recycling materials by collecting them to reuse or reprocess into new products. This saves the need to manufacture products using fresh, raw materials collected or mined from the earth.
  4. Conserving the quality and fertility of soil so it can continue to provide food.

Which of these conservation measures do you think is most important?
