When the earth moves at night
3M's nose plaster lets snorers sleep quietly

The numbers really are astonishing. Around a quarter of all people snore. A study at the "Pro Science" Institute in Linden/Germany has now proved that the 3M nose plaster substantially reduces snoring - both in its duration and its volume.

Snorers emit over 1000 noises a night. That not only annoys a partner but is also possibly damaging to the snorer's own health.

In a study carried out under the directorship of Professor Wilfried Dimpfel, 30 patients were each monitored over four consecutive nights. Snoring events with an intensity of over 20 decibels (dB) were reduced in the second night when a nose plaster was worn from 89 to 7 snoring noises per hour. At the same time the sound level of the snores fell considerably, especially during the period of shallow sleep. Without the nose plaster the maximum snoring intensity was 23.6 dB - comparable with a loudly clattering typewriter - whereas with the nose plaster it was only 19.2 dB - corresponding roughly to a radio at typical volume for a room.

The 3M nose plaster does not only help snorers. It is particularly helpful for people with narrowed airways, such as those with curvature of the nasal septum or with a simple cold. Sportspersons and hay fever sufferers too can breathe more easily again because this little thing helps all of them to breathe better through the nose. 3M nose plasters are available from pharmacies, chemists and in food stores.
