Dangerously invisible

image - that's the problem with children in the dark and when visibility is poor

It's precisely in the months when darkness falls early and the weather is dull that even the most colourful of children's clothes merge into a uniform and dangerous grey. 3M reflective materials, however, are now enabling children to be more visible when outdoors. The "Be safe, be seen" campaign by the Austrian newspaper, KURIER, and 3M has provided the means for shoes, boots, helmets, raincoats and many more things to be made more visible by means of 3M Scotchlite™ adhesive reflective material.

Pedestrians sporting the 3M adhesive materials at dusk can be seen at a distance of 150 metres. Car drivers then have enough time to react. Without these reflective strips people will only be seen at a distance of 30 metres. It's then often too late to brake. It's especially difficult for car drivers to see children, joggers or road workers in good time under poor lighting conditions or in the dark. Simply attaching reflective 3M strips to bags, raincoats, bikes, prams, inline skates or shoes significantly reduces the risk of an accident.

The KURIER safety stickers from 3M are available free of charge from KURIER, Abteilung Marketing, Kennwort: "Sicher sichtbar", Postfach 7000, 1072 Wien. 3M Scotchlite reflective materials are also obtainable directly from H. Ebner, Verkehrsmittel GmbH (tel. 07242/46640-15).
