Looking floorward to new sales potential |

Many purchase decisions are made at the point of sale (POS). With FloorMinder Graphic, 3M is laying a completely new concept at the feet of retailers and the advertising industry, a special non-slip and durable foil that can be placed at the POS to catch consumer's attention and increase sales.Floors are large and attractive surfaces for advertising yet continue to go largely unused. Unlike other media, the floor is something customers cannot easily ignore. The new floor advertising foil has been affixed to floors in front of the milk coolers of 100 outlets of the Meinl grocery chain in Austria for two months. Sales patterns were recorded for a three-month period with and without 3M Floor Minders. The findings clearly demonstrate the enormous potential of this new advertising medium. With 3M Floor Minders, any motif can be affixed to and subsequently removed without residue from flooring of virtually any type, from linoleum to sealed stone and marble to clay, tiles and parquet. The self-adhering, removable foil withstands the toughest treatment for at least six months. The top coating consists of a protective glass-fiber reinforced laminate, guaranteeing a wear-resistant and non-slip surface. The superb quality of the image remains unaffected by the wheels of shopping carts, cleaning machines and inline skaters, spilled liquids or cleaning agents.
