The surface of the new mouse pad is covered with a fine network of raised and recessed areas. This makes the mouse much easier to control and eliminates the need for repeated positioning of the cursor. Dust and other dirt falls into the recessed areas. The track ball does not even come into contact with dust, dirt and skin oil. It simply moves over them and remains clean longer.
