Future Trends in Liquid Pipe Coating Technology

By: Dr S Kut, Phd BSc C Chem FRSC FTSC FIMF FICort. International Direct, E Wood/Copon International Limited
At: Bally's Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, April 23-27 90

Abstract:
A review is made of the current status of liquid internal and external epoxy pipe coatings - leading on to a new generation of pipe coatings for aggressive, sour and highly acidic conditions. A fast curing liquid external pipe coating is described - linked with low capital plant costs.

Internal and External Coating of Pipelines

By: Dr S Kut, Phd BSc C Chem FRSC FTSC FIMF FICort. International Direct, E Wood/Copon International Limited.
At: University of Durham, September 9-11, 1975

Abstract:
The characteristics of specialised internal pipe coatings are described, presenting data, supported by case histories, to illustrate the advantages for various service requirements: such as effective protection, decrease in friction and improved throughput. New developments are presented in the field of thin film exterior pipe coatings.

Liquid Internal and External Pipe Coatings for the Oil and Gas Industry - State of the Art

By: Dr S Kut, Phd BSc C Chem FRSC FTSC FIMF FICort. International Direct, E Wood/Copon International Limited
At: Seminar for Corrosion in Oil and Gas Industry. 18-19 February 2003, Tehran, Iran

Abstract:
The paper examines each of the benefits in light of the current requirements and practice for the internal coating of pipes for the gas and oil industries. The paper summarises the technical and financial cost benefits of internally lining sweet and sour gas and oil pipelines with the relevant suitable Copon pipe coatings. For sour service, details given of SSCC tests. External pipe protection referred to, with particular reference to field joint coating. Presentation based on the more than 40 years worldwide experience with COPON PIPE COATINGS, solvent based epoxies, solvent free COPON Epoxies and Polyurethanes

Liquid Pipe Coatings for Gas, Oil and Water Industries

By: Dr S Kut, Phd BSc C Chem FRSC FTSC FIMF FICort. International Direct, E Wood/Copon International Limited
At: The Pipe Protection Conference, Bhra.Amsterdam 10-12 November 1993

Abstract:
The paper reviews 35 years experience in the internal coating of over 70,000 km of pipelines worldwide - the financial and technical benefits obtained both for land and off shore lines. Considered will be the current status, methods available and future developments. Leading on from sweet gas, will be discussed a new generation of internal pipe coatings for sour gas - for aggressive and highly acidic conditions. This will be linked with techniques to give a continuous coating, which is essential in such corrosive environments. Similarly internal pipe coatings for the water industry - meeting the latest water regulations for potable water. Lining of outfalls and rehabilitation of sewers is also discussed.

Liquid Two-Component Internal and External Pipe Coatings

By: Dr S Kut, Phd BSc C Chem FRSC FTSC FIMF FICort. International Direct, E Wood/Copon International Limited.
At: The First Mediterranean Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference, 2

Abstract:
Based on 35 years experience with pipe coatings applied to over 60,000 km of pipelines worldwide, a review is made of the current status of liquid internal and external epoxy pipe coatings - leading on to a new generation of pipe coatings for aggressive, sour and highly acidic conditions. A fast curing liquid external pipe coating is described - linked with low capital plant costs.
