Since 1988, 3M Canada has actively supported Canada's coaches with a growing array of education and recognition programs developed through their partnership with the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC). 3M believes that every child deserves a certified coach to ensure a positive experience in sport.

The 3M National Coaching Certification Program is respected around the world as one of the most effective coaching education programs available. Used by more than 60 sports across Canada, coaches learn up-to-date skill techniques, teaching methods, and training tips to become better coaches. It has taught more than 700,000 men and women across Canada the secrets of coaching success, which is why the CAC recommends that all Canadian coaches, whether novice or master, become certified in this program. The success of a sports program largely depends on the quality of the coaching staff.

3M Canada provides Coach Recognition Awards to outstanding coaches at the provincial, regional, community, and local levels. The award symbolizes the coach's outstanding contribution to the development of athletes and sport in his/her community or organization.

Each year, 3M Canada recognizes four outstanding coaches with the most prestigious coaching award - the 3M Coaching Canada Award, for their contribution to their sport, their athletes, and their community.

The RCMP joined with 3M Canada and the CAC to help fight abuse in sport and build stronger relationships with young athletes. This merger marked the first time that 3M Canada partnered with one of their major customers to achieve a common goal - a highly innovative idea.
