3M announced on May 1 that it has completed the sale of substantially all of its identity management business— including biometrics, document readers and secure materials—to Gemalto, a world leader in digital security. Local share transfer requirements are underway in two countries and are expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2017. Gemalto is the global leader in digital security, serving customers in more than 180 countries. We anticipate a smooth transition of this business to Gemalto.
